The season of the scent of marigold has arrived, along with the smell of copal and the feeling of reconnecting with those we miss so much. At La Vicenta, we celebrate these traditions full of culture, and that is why we concluded our #OdaDeLaMuerte season with a playlist full of songs dedicated to life and death.
We present to you a musical offering full of tradition, featuring artists such as Chavela Vargas, Kinky, Le Baron, Zoe, and more. This playlist is also complemented by the essence of new artists such as Mon Laferte and Ángela Aguilar, who pay tribute to “La Llorona”, a Mexican classic during these dates.
Here you will also find songs with dedications such as “Host of Ghost” by Porter, “Nada” by Juan Son, and “Fantasma” by Zoe. These are songs full of emotion and homage to the sky.
Fusing Mexican culture with the celebration of Día de Muertos, we present rhythms full of folklore such as “Calaveras y Diablitos” by Fabulosos Cadillacs, “Cempasúchil” by Monsieur Periné, and “Recuérdame” by Natalia Lafourcade, which is part of the soundtrack of Disney’s “Coco” movie.
Día de Muertos is enjoyed with music, marigolds, skulls, devils, sweets, and everything else you can think of because in Mexico, culture is not only felt through music, but also through food, customs, smells, and sensations.
We share our playlist “Calaveras y Diablitos” full of traditions about this date, listen to it with feeling, and enjoy it in the company of a few double drinks.
