Two personalities, two combinations, and one mission: Make Every Toast Count
Some questions can divide any group of friends: medium-rare or well-done steak? Fries for the table or one order each? And now, with Oda a la Muerte, there’s a new one: are you Team Alma or Team Espíritu?
From October 15 to November 3, La Vicenta introduces two seasonal drinks inspired by Día de Muertos, each with its own twist on mixology. Both feature cempasúchil marigold, but their ingredients and flavor profiles are worlds apart. So get your arguments ready, because everyone will be defending their favorite.
Team Alma: Fruity, Floral, with a Citrus Twist
Alma is for those who love combinations that bring together different flavors without losing their balance. Its recipe features Don Julio 70 tequila, St-Germain, lychee purée, lime juice, salt, and cempasúchil marigold.
Lychee brings a fruity profile, while lime adds a citrusy contrast. The tequila gives the blend its character, and the cempasúchil connects the drink to one of Mexico’s most iconic traditions.
Its combination of ingredients makes Alma a great choice for anyone looking for a drink with fruity and floral notes. And yes, it’s also a good excuse to get the debate started at the table.
Team Espíritu: Coffee, Hazelnut, and Plenty of Character
If bold flavors are more your thing, Espíritu jumps straight into the conversation. This drink combines Don Julio Ceniza tequila, Frangelico, espresso, dark honey, and cempasúchil marigold.
Espresso brings roasted notes, Frangelico adds hints of hazelnut, and dark honey rounds out the blend with a deep, sweet profile. Cempasúchil completes the creation with a detail that keeps the spirit of the season alive.
Espíritu offers a different experience from Alma, bringing together ingredients that complement one another through contrast.
The Tie-Breaker Happens at La Vicenta
There’s no need for everyone to have the same favorite. In fact, one of the best parts of going out with friends is ordering different things, trying new combinations, and debating which one takes the win.
Oda a la Muerte brings these two creations together for a seasonal celebration of Día de Muertos, with a laid-back attitude and a great reason to gather around the table.
Alma and Espíritu will be available at La Vicenta from October 15 to November 3.
Now you have the question for your next night out: Team Alma or Team Espíritu? Bring your friends, order your favorite, and let the debate begin.
