Last Sunday, October 26, <\/span>Canc\u00fan F.C<\/b><\/a> hosted the <\/span>Mineros de Zacatecas<\/b> at the <\/span>Andr\u00e9s Quintana Roo Stadium<\/b> in the second leg of the Liga de Expansi\u00f3n MX semifinals. After an emotionally charged match, Canc\u00fan managed to win at home, securing their spot in the grand final where they will face the beloved <\/span>Potros de Hierro<\/b><\/a> in a match that will be a classic due to Atlante’s past in Canc\u00fan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let’s remember that the Iguanas lost away in Zacatecas 1-0 with a goal from Carlos S\u00e1nchez in the 68th minute, temporarily giving them the pass to the grand final. However, the story would be different in the beautiful tropical paradise of Canc\u00fan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting in the 10th minute, the Iguanas took the lead with a goal from Johan Alonso Chavira, followed by <\/span>“El Gallito” Vazquez<\/b><\/a> scoring the 2-0 after a shot from outside the area that deflected into the goal, a spectacular goal. However, rain made its presence in the stadium, where minutes after a tremendous downpour, Jos\u00e9 Rodr\u00edguez scored the 3-0 before <\/span>the match was suspended.<\/b><\/p>\n

The match resumed after two and a half hours, with Zacatecas closing in just before halftime with a goal from Kevin Maga\u00f1a. In the second half, the Pumas UNAM youth player, Brian Figueroa, equalized the aggregate score. The 3-2 was confirmed on the scoreboard, and Canc\u00fan advanced to the final due to a better position in the overall standings.<\/span><\/p>\n
